The Yearbook of the Association of Pacific Coast Geographers promotes geographical education and research by publishing abstracts of papers from its annual meetings, a selection of full-length peer-reviewed articles, and book reviews. The APCG, founded in 1935 at the University of California, Los Angeles, has published its Yearbook annually except during the war years of 1943-46. The association's first president was Otis Willard Freeman of Eastern Washington University, who edited vols. 1-5 (1935-1940), and its longest-serving editor was Darrick Danta of California State University, Northridge, who edited vols. 59-68 (1997-2006). The current editor is James Craine of California State University, Northridge. The Yearbook is owned by the APCG. From 1965 through 1996 (vols. 27-58) it was published by Oregon State University Press, from 1997 through 1999 (vols. 59-61) by the APCG, and from 2000 (vol. 62) by the University of Hawai i Press.Its first electronic edition appeared in 2004 on Project MUSE. The current cover design dates from 2007 (vol. 69).
