Two estranged sisters, one father accused of murder, zero time to catch up. A by-the-book FBI agent and her chaotic hacker sister become fake PIs to solve a real murder. Ivy and Rose share only one thing: a father they don't know. Ivy, an on-leave FBI agent with a predilection for order, and Rose, a reformed hacker with a knack for chaos, are summoned to their father's private investigations office when he goes missing. The sisters come running and finally meet--over his assistant's corpse. With their dad the number-one suspect in this brutal murder, Rose hatches a plan to pose as his partners. She and Ivy tackle a wealthy client's case in a small town with big secrets, all the while digging up dirt on the townspeople's ties to their father and his assistant's death. Can these odd-couple sisters work two cases, or will one of them be next to disappear? Fans of Janet Evanovich, Jasmine Webb, and TV's Castle, who like traditional mysteries with twists, red herrings, and humor, will love this fast-paced series opener.

Autorenporträt
Alicia Ellis decided to write books about ten minutes before graduating from law school. She's now an Atlanta attorney moonlighting as an author, electronics junkie, and secret superhero. With two degrees in computer science and an MFA in Writing Popular Fiction, she loves creative problem-solving, especially as it relates to high-tech things. She writes mysteries, sometimes for young adults, sometimes in fantasy or science fiction settings, and sometimes in the real world. Her debut novel, Girl of Flesh and Metal, a young adult sci-fi mystery, was the first self-published book ever to make the American Library Association's LITA Excellence in Children's and Young Adult Science Fiction Notable Lists.
