It is 2008, and Tayib, recently retired, is looking back at the lives he has lived and the choices that he, his wife, and his daughter have made. His daughter too is questioning, though in a different time and place. This is a story about how the small turns we take in our lives shape our families and determine what sacrifices we are willing to make and to what end. It is about what it means to be a stranger in a place, and, consequently, how we each make our homes.
