Yikes! is the second book that I have written since retiring from the conventional workforce. Never being an avid reader of books myself, it came as a surprise to many who know me when my first book (Oops!) was published. Unless something out of the ordinary occurs in my life, I have no intention to use my remaining intellect to write another one. However, as I exit from the literary genre, you have the privilege of being a recipient of my last minute decision and hence will receive an additional bonus as a result. Yes, it's free. Below the next paragraph, you will find the first and last poetic effort of my short literary career. My favorite poem when I was growing up and still to this day is "Trees" by Joyce Kilmer. In contrast to me, he was a true American writer/poet and it is unfortunate that his life was cut short in 1918 serving as a sergeant in the "Fighting 69th" during World War I. My poem is a spin-off of his well-known work and, hopefully, no one will take offense to it.
