Based on interview results, the book also offers suggestions regarding how Yiwu (and by proxy, China) might continue to progress.

Autorenporträt
Mark D. Jacobs, Ph.D. is a true Sinophile, having spent most of his adult life in Asia (the majority in China), living, studying, and working. He currently lives near Madison, Wisconsin, with his wife, daughter, and son, writing and theorizing about China's future. This is his first book, which is based on his multi-year research experiences in Yiwu, Zhejiang as a Cornell University Ph.D. candidate, Fulbright Scholar, and professor.
