Toshio Mori was the author of Yokohama, California (1949), Woman From Hiroshima (1978), and The Chauvanist and Other Stories (1979). He was the first Japanese American writer to publish a book of short stories in the United States, and his writing career spanned the formative decades surrounding World War II.
