Joan Jennings was born and raised in the Nodine Hill section of Yonkers and is a third-generation resident. Jennings made the history of Yonkers her passion and is currently president of the Friends of Philipse Manor Hall, a nonprofit group of volunteers that supports programming at the Manor Hall. She is also on the board of the Yonkers Historical Society. A professional photographer, Joan contributed to Arcadia Publishing's Then & Now: Yonkers.
