York in Chains is a fascinating story about a historical character whose life has rarely been told-and never in such a unique and creative way. Handelman is a skilled storyteller and his descriptions in many places are staggeringly vivid. This novel was so compelling I looked forward every morning to diving in again. -Louella Bryant is the author most recently of Sheltering Angel, A Novel Based on a True Story of the Titanic.
