A collection of honest, vulnerable poems written from the perspective of a heart-broken nurse. Through faith, and by taking one day at a time, she learns to overcome her struggle with mental health and faith, and to finally accept that it's okay to not be okay. Through a mixture of written poetry, hand-illustrated artwork and photography, You Are Not Alone examines experiences and understandings of struggles with mental health from multiple angles and aesthetic mediums, drawing to the surface the rich emotional details of our inner lives. By turns, a riveting exploration of mental health, the importance of seeking help, guidance and reassurance, and a profound reflection on the challenges of faith in God through meditations on scripture and prayer, these poems will help readers to better understand their own struggles and to find a path to happiness and to God.

Autorenporträt
Louise is a Christian who lives in Glasgow with her husband and three beloved children. She enjoyed art from a young age but suppressed her talents to focus on her work and family until she reached her rock-bottom. Art and poetry were used to portray and explore her feelings at a time she struggled with mental health. She believes that her work can be used to help others going through similar struggles, by giving hope and through seeking the right help and strengthening her relationship with God. Ironically, English at school was not one of Louise's interests and it goes to show that anyone at any age can develop a passion for something they would never imagine when walking in alignment with God.
