A. A. Kingston started out working at her local parks and recreation department with young children as a teen. As an adult, she then went on to raise seven children. The goal of her writing is to empower young children to be proud of who they are. She believes that, by recognizing each child's unique strengths and supporting their interests, parents and caregivers are in a position to nurture a healthy self-confidence.
