Autorenporträt
Mary Nyambura Muchiri was born in Muranga District of the Central province, Kenya. In September 2001, she joined Taylor, a Christian University in Upland Indiana, USA. In addition to teaching in the English Department at Taylor University, she has published four books: Saved Through Fire: A Family Experiences Kenya's War of Independence; His Banner Over Me Is Love: The Dreams of an African Woman; Papers on Language and Culture: An African Perspective; and The Power of Story: Global Myths on the Origins and Character of Black People. She is looking forward to retiring in May 2017 so that she can devote more time to writing and overseeing a new non-profit organization Amsha (meaning "raise up" in Kiswahili), that will raise money for poor Christian students who pass well in examinations, but are not able to afford university education. Her main interests include reading and writing, women and minority issues, higher education and spiritual development.
