This book assumes significance since it has been designed from a social work perspective which tries to promote social change, problem solving in human relationships and the empowermentand liberation of people to enhance well-being, utilizing theories of human behaviour and social systems to deal with youth in slums those who are potential vulnerable sections of the urban society.

Dr.K.Sathyamurthi HOD of Ph D program, MSSW, has Nineteen years of Teaching, Research and Training expertise and has guided more than ten MPhil and three Ph D scholars in the field of Social Work. He has several research projects, publications in his credit and authored five books related to Social Work.He developed 'Slum Entrepreneurship Scale'.
