There are so many paths towards realizing our dreams, towards untangling the web of sabotaging habits that keep us from being our best selves. However, very few approaches look at how you literally move through life. Every breath, gesture and facial expression are (usually unconscious) choices that influence how we navigate life's challenges. While talk can often lead to paralysis by analysis, listening to the body is a direct line to the instant messages being sent every second by the brain and nervous system. The saying "we contain multitudes," while true, can disempower us from the possibility of ever attaining satisfaction. You've Got The Power! offers readers four paths: the way of the warrior, teacher, healer and visionary. These four cornerstone archetypes live in mythology, history and in our own stories. Using her lifetime of research in movement, this book offers a revolutionary approach to getting out of your way by utilizing humanity's forgotten sixth sense - the power of sensation and embodiment.

Autorenporträt
Lavinia's lifelong passion for understanding human expression, and how we can develop emotional resilience and maturity, began while growing up as the daughter of traumatized Holocaust survivors attempting to navigate the American dream. From a career in theater, her research took her towards the new field of somatic movement. She has taught the Feldenkrais Method(R) internationally for over 30 years, besides studying dozens of movement technologies from the healing, martial and performing arts. Immersing herself deeply in the work of somatic psychology, the power of mythology and the neuroscience of emotional expression, Lavinia has developed a somatic learning process called Kinesa(TM) which synthesizes her mind/body/emotion/spirit approach to deep personal healing and practical applications to life challenges. She lives in Asheville, NC with her husband, two cats and a flourishing garden of weeds.
