Autorenporträt
Debbie Tinoco was born and raised in Bakersfield, CA where she currently resides with her husband, son, and two dogs. She earned a B.A. and M.A. from California State University, Sacramento and an Ed.D. from the University of San Francisco where she received encouragement and motivation to begin writing for children. Throughout her teaching career, Debbie has taught several grade levels but has spent most of her time in higher education. She is the author and creator of the children's book series, Dale Gas Carmen. The series is based upon growing up in a Mexican American extended family where her grandparents were central to her life and stories of her American history.Monica Martinez is a young Mexican American born and raised in Bakersfield, California. Monica attended California State University, Monterey Bay where she earned a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics with a minor in Japanese Language and Culture in May of 2020. She is a woman of many interests and has been passionate about art and illustration since she was very young. She works as a freelance artist and loves working with bright and bold colors expressing human emotion through her illustrations.
