At the time of Haggai's and Zechariah's writings, God's people have just emerged from 70 years of servitude in the Babylonian empire. They are not the nation the LORD promised they would be in the scriptures. The people must wonder what hope there is for their future, and if their willful disobedience has caused the LORD to turn His back on them. On every page, through every prophecy, Zechariah answers these questions with "The Lord Remembers."
