In this book, zerumbone was investigated for its efficacy against cisplatin-induced nephrotoxicity and hepatotoxicity in rats. Outcomes revealed that zerumbone reduced kidney and liver damage as well as preserved the renal and liver functions as proven by histopathological assessment. In addition to that, treatment with zerumbone restored the levels of MDA and GSH in cisplatin-treated animals. According to the experimental result, zerumbone is beneficial in cisplatin- prompted renal and hepatic dysfunction possibly through the prevention of lipid peroxidation and preservation of antioxidant glutathione.
