Zombie Tacos from Hell is a collection of both humorous and serious writings from author and speaker Andy Fletcher (who is, in this case, not the Andy Fletcher who is the lead singer for Depeche Mode, nor the MLB baseball umpire, nor the Premier League referee, nor the physicist all by the same name). This Andy Fletcher has lectured globally for 30 years on science and knowledge issues in schools in 43 countries so far and on cruise ships when he gets the chance for a free cruise. Who would turn that down? Except for maybe the Covid-19 cruise back in March 2020. That was awkward. Anyway. Since Covid-19 pretty much shut down the international school and cruise ship lectures, this Andy Fletcher had to find something to do, so he collected decades of bits and pieces that he's written and made a book out of them. This book. There are titles like Driving Miss Betty, Lost in Translation, An Epic Moment in Montana, Hell is Other People on my Cruise Ship, and I Lost my Underwear in Cairo, plus many more guaranteed to make you truly regret Covid-19. We should not imply that it is all humor, since there are many articles that are deeply serious and thought-provoking. This Andy Fletcher is seriously good at provoking thought. Most everything is pretty short and accessible, which is good, since all of our attention spans have been drastically shrunken by quarantining. This is not Faulkner, who is excellent, but would never get published these days. So you should buy this book, and all of this Andy Fletcher's other books, links to which should be around here somewhere.

Autorenporträt
All of these questions and answers come from my own contributions to Quora, a website that allows anyone to ask any question about anything, and anyone else to answer any question about anything. Q&A all the time. It allows the quants, the brills, the loonies, the whackos, and serious thinkers and writers to gather together to share both brilliance and looniness in equal parts. People who should have no opinions at all on anything are allowed to have opinions about everything; some of those opinions (most?) are whacky, but some of them are brilliant. IMHO. I also use a number of science resources in my answers - Wired, NewScientist, Popular Mechanics, Scientific American, Discover, Forbes, and many others - because using real science is suppose to silence the whackos. Sigh. Oh, well. What are you gonna do?
