Zygmunt Witymir Bie kowski (May 2, 1913 Warsaw - August 15, 1979) was a Polish pilot and a gifted writer of many articles and poems. His 303 squadron diary is deposited in the Polish Museum and Sikorski Institute in London. He is buried at Gunnersbury Cemetery in West London.Zygmunt Witymir Bie kowski was the son of Leopold Bie kowski (1883-1942) and Zofia Braun (1891-1943). His father was a Polish Member of Parliament 1922 - 1928. Both his parents died in the Soviet Gulag camps.Trained as a pilot at D blin, he saw action in Poland in 1939 and France in 1940. During the Battle of Britain, he trained the pilots who were in short supply. His brother Jan Bie kowski, was also a pilot, shot down over Cherbourg in 1944. As well as Squadron Leader of 303, he also did a stint as Squadron Leader of 302. He finished the war as Wing Commander.
