This is a rare book whose author, Muhammad Zaki, was able to summarize the history of Egypt since King Mina made a pilgrimage to the two countries, and thus what is known as the "Pharaonic dynasties" appeared, which witnessed eras and eras of prosperity, decline, and disintegration as well, and Egypt was divided into 44 departments or districts; Twenty-two of them are in Lower Egypt and twenty-two in Upper Egypt. Before Egypt came together into one kingdom, these sections were small, independent kingdoms under the rule of independent princes who assumed the emirate by inheritance. When Egypt came together and became one kingdom, each of these small kingdoms formed a section of the emirate. Egypt, but some of it continued under the rule of princes from the houses of the ancient royal families, who inherited the emirate, each in his own division, and ruled subserviently to the Pharaoh of Egypt. That is, the king of Upper Egypt and Lower Egypt, and as for some of the other sections, they began to be ruled by removable rulers appointed by the king according to his will. The Greeks invaded Egypt, until the Islamic conquest of Egypt came at the hands of Amr Ibn Al-Aas, eliminating the injustice and persecution to which the Egyptian people were exposed.
