The book Returning to Haifa was covered in two cinematic works, the first bearing the same title as the novel, directed by Qasim Hawal, and produced by the Land Foundation for Film Production in 1981 AD. The film won four international awards, the second titled "The Remaining," directed by Iranian Seif Allah Dad and produced by Iranian-Syrian in 1994. The story was also covered in a television work by Syrian director Basil Al-Khatib and in a Jordanian theatrical work.
