Mustafa Sadiq Al-Rafi'i is considered one of the poles of modern Arabic literature in the twentieth century. He belongs to the Al-Muhafifi school, which is a poetic school affiliated with classical poetry. He enriched Arabic literature with many poetic and prose creations. He published his first poetry collection in 1903 AD, when he was not yet twenty-three years old. Although he gained the admiration of Egypt's great poets at the time, he did not last long in the field of poetry, and turned to prose, because he found it more malleable and not bound by the restrictions of poetry.
