Victorian era. Yes, it was an amazing time. The incredible speed of development of science and technology. Fantastic amount of inventions. A lot of new gadgets that cause horror among respectable people and enthusiasm among young people. Rampant advertising. Charlatans, adventurers and crooks of all stripes. Chaos in the market and the fight of "sharks of capitalism" for its most profitable pieces. Not without reason in modern science fiction a popular genre appeared among young people - steampunk, an alternative option for the development of mankind, perfectly mastered the mechanics and technology of steam engines, with a pronounced general stylization under the era of Victorian England (second half of the XIX century) and the era of early capitalism with a characteristic urban landscape and contrasting social stratification. A sort of nostalgia for the Victorian era and protest in the era of digital totalitarianism. Comparing conditional "old" and "new" life, a teenager learns to evaluate his own reality. Understand that time is not chosen and it depends only on us whether our life will be interesting. It comes to what is important and necessary always: to the idea that unattractive reality may be interesting. Moreover, paradoxically, it is due to its unattractiveness. It is when life is scary and dull that it becomes clear that common sense and a warm heart are capable of dealing with anything. This may be the lesson of 10 books collected in this collection.
