June Kaye is the combined penname of Brazilian friends and work colleagues Ilana K. and Alessandra K. Ilana-a recovering lawyer-and Alessandra-a former biology teacher-bonded over their love of literature and were critique partners when they came up with the idea for 37 Questions. They then embarked on a co-writing journey, choosing a name inspired by their shared initial and birth month. Their lines of work have the two friends leading somewhat nomadic lives, dragging husbands, kids, and pets from country to country across the world. Their current whereabouts are Belgium (Ilana) and Austria (Alessandra).
