Here, humour is at times a parody, sometimes irony or otherwise filled with absurd situations. It belongs to a brand of universal humour connected to certain civilizational contexts or achievements rather than political and social agendas, thus having the potential to be commonly understood. Characters and situations feature much sought humanity and warmth, and are freed of any vulgarity or slander. However, both characters and situations are recognizable, and easy to identify with.

The stories are happening here and now, in the world we live in. All those anonymous characters, gullible people, obsessed with their petty malices, swindles, vengeances and mischiefs, those benign drunks and obese women, patients and their doctors, frustrated spouses and malicious neighbours, waiters, civil servants and their bosses, actually an entire gallery of weirdos, appear in awkward situations, so recognizable that they force the reader to stop and reflex. At the same time reader will probably have a feeling s/he already somehow and somewhere has seen those characters. Seen where? Well, of course at home, in the neighbourhood, on the street, in a favourite bar, at work, on the beach...

Ultimately, this humour is benevolent and therefore recognized by different generations of readers. It truly enriches our somewhat gloomy and harsh everyday life and brings a breath of gaiety which tells us that life should be looked at from its funny side.
