In the play "A Handful of Winds," Saeed Taqi Al-Din weaves a profound story that mocks human selfhood and arrogance. The writer tells us the story of "Tabaros", the god exiled to planet Earth who instills pride in people and blinds them from seeing their true selves. While he traps people inside imaginary walls and convinces them that their world is the whole world, little Wajih lives amidst these lies, exploiting people's love of vanity to sell fake news and make ends meet. The story combines fantasy and reality in a satirical depiction of human nature, as Wajih manipulates debt and appearances on an absurd journey that ends with the sad melodies of an oud player declaring: "He lived a miserable life."
