This is the story of a stray chicken running across my yard. We could not find the owner, so we rescued her. Never in my wildest dream did I think that rescuing a chicken would be as fun and rewarding as this has been. She brings great joy into our daily life. Before I got her a chicken coop, we kept her in a dog kennel in the garage, and on cold nights, we would bring her into the house. Now Lorraine has two friends, and I am not sure they know they are chickens!

Autorenporträt
As a little girl growing up on a small farm having different animals around was a great way to grow up. We had, cows, chickens, sheep, ducks, rabbits, dogs, cats, and even a pet raccoon. They were very spoiled! One of the rabbits begged for Wheaties, the ducks would beat you back to the house after walking them to the steam out back. The ducks learned to catch bread knowing if they didn't the dogs would get it all. After moving to a small town, all that was missed. For some reason, stray animals would make a stop for food and water then just take up residence. Each one is enjoyable, fun, and at times very funny.
