W. Bruce Ayers is a retired community college president who served in higher education for over 45 years. At 80, Ayers remains involved in the life of his community and region, serving on the boards of several organizations and remaining active in his church, where he is a deacon. He and his wife, Barbara, have been married for 60 years. Together, they have two grown sons, Sean and Andy, two wonderful daughters-in-law, Andrea and Sydney, and three awesome grandchildren, Trinity, Troy, and Adyn. Ayers is proud to call eastern Kentucky home and feels deep pride in the area and its people.
