Rezensionen
"Acknowledging the difficulty of defining "romance," Saundersand the contributors collectively produce a volume that offers amore comprehensive survey of the literature--including itshistorical, national, and generic varieties--than have previousstandard works on the subject...Some of the essays--e.g., HelenCooper's "Malory and the Early Prose Romances" and Richard Cronin's"Victorian Romance: Medievalism"--are exemplary in the quality oftheir writing, scholarship, and critical perception...Highlyrecommended." Choice
"... It would be worth acquiring for an academic humanitiescollection and, from my own experience, would be particulary usefulfor English literature students at undergraduate and postgraduatelevel." Reference Review
