Alex Montclair, wealthy Creole planter and owner of White Pillars Plantation outside New Orleans, was the man every Creole woman hoped to marry. When he had to travel to Charleston at the height of Mardi Gras to attend a Planters Conference, the last thing he expected to happern was to meet - and fall in love with - a beautiful Americain woman. He also didn't expect to be ambushed by a thug hired by a jealous, former suitor whose offer of marriage to Katherine Layton was rejected only two months prior to Alex's arrival in Charleston.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Born in New Orleans in 1947, adopted at three months of age, and raised in a small rural community in northeast Louisiana, this "Daddy's Girl" will proudly tell you that she was a "chosen" baby. Louisiana French (Acadian) by birth, Dee is a country girl at heart. At the age of six, she got her first pony and rode horses all through her high school years.

Now in the Seventh Decade of her life, Dee is realizing her dream: her first published book, For Better Or For Worse.

"Writing has provided both emotional and creative outlets for me for as long as I can remember. It's my way of venting when I'm sad or angry…or ecstatically happy. It's fun to create word pictures of a fantasy world, the people who occupy it, and then breathe life into them. It's addictive!"
