Eric Luhrs is a retired mounted police officer from California. Officer Luhrs was assigned to the mounted unit from 1987 to 2009. At the same time, Officer Luhrs was a state certified mounted police instructor. Rusty was Officer Luhrs' loyal partner and friend. Officer Luhrs and Rusty worked as a team during routine patrol, crowd control, parade events and school presentations in Sacramento California.
