Marian Heath Griffin lives in Baton Rouge, Louisiana with her, Bertrand Griffin, Sr. They have been married for fifty five years. She served as a licensed professional counselor and student personnel administrator for thirty-six years at Southern University-Baton Rouge, the last seven years as director of International student services. Heath-Griffin graduated from Delaware State University with a bachelor of arts degree in sociology and psychology, attended Atlanta University School of Social Work for two years, attended the Interdenominational Theological Seminary in Atlanta and New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary where she completed a Masters degree in psychological counseling. She received a masters degree from Southern University in Mass Communication, further studies at Louisiana State University and Northwestern University on Evanston, Illinois. She has worked with children, youth and adults most of her career. She has served as musician for childrens since she was twelve years old and has organized childrens choirs for several churches. Her husband is a minister. She organized a childrens children choir at her current church forty six years ago and is still their volunteer musician. She enjoys traveling over the fifty states and six of the seven continents with her husband, three adult children, Bertrand II, Karen and Michael, their spouses and my eight grand children, as well as my sister Nancy and her husband, Albert Kellam.
