As he built his empire, he spoiled Marguerite with parties, toys, and trips while her mother watched from the shadows. It disturbed Rosita thinking that he was using her daughter to get to her until she heard a woman's voice in the background. After months of trying to show affection, he secretly dated Rosita because she didn't think that she deserved to be cared for, as he cared for her daughter. He couldn't keep making Rosita wait while he wondered if he loved her enough to say the words. And it involved losing both of them. Reluctantly he walked away from both of them. Soon after realizing his mistake, he returned, begging her forgiveness because he'd planned a memorable trip for Rosita.

During their trip, he gave her an experience of a sunrise from the top of a mountain. It was something that she'd asked for as a joke. Her tears broke through, cracking his heart, and he professed his love.
