Alice Curtis Turner (1860-1958) was a New England native who wrote nearly 40 books of historical fiction featuring young heroines in the American Revolution and Civil War. A Little Maid of Province Town was the first of her Little Maid books. She wrote 24 in all, each telling of a a young girl's adventures in Colonial America during the American Revolution. Anne Nelson's advHer other series included the Grandpa's Little Girls series, the Little Heroine series, the Yankee Girl series, the Marjorie series, and the Little Runaways series.
