Two pygmy killer whales find themselves on a South Mississippi marsh bank, hundreds of miles from their deep-water home. A blistering sun, twisting streams, and towering grass surround them. Their survival seems bleak at best until a fisherman happens to see them stranded and unable to swim. He calls the Institute for Marine Mammal Studies Stranding hotline, and their odds for survival turn from dark to hopeful with their successful release.
