Carefully studied, the Bible makes no such statement of any sort of eternal torment, and it's time to clear God's good name. While there are serious consequences for rejecting the pull of God on one's heart, those consequences stop well short of the horrific idea of billions of souls living out a tormented eternity. I'm writing from a Christian perspective, but I'm challenging the very faith I'm a part of. We've got this one wrong, and have had for a long time.
Through the centuries, a few individuals have broken out of the mold and challenged the traditional thinking in this area of judgment. I'm thankful for those who were brave enough to challenge the system, and many of their arguments have influenced my own thinking. But I was still left with unanswered questions after reading some of these works. A More Merciful God approaches the topic from new angles, fills in the gaps, and leaves the reader with no doubt that God is far more merciful than we've been traditionally taught.
