Autorenporträt
Raymond Leo Blain was born near the end of the Great Depression and start of World War II. His father was a seventh grade school dropout who learned the value of education and instilled that in his seven children. All finished high school and three of the boys went on to become a college sociology professor, an engineer who consulted for many large U.S. corporations and Raymond.Ray graduated from the University of Massachusetts in Amherst in the centennial class of 1963, and Georgetown University School of Medicine in 1967. From 1966-1972 he served in the USAF where he became a Board Certified Pediatrician and achieved the rank of Major. After serving over 17 years in private practice and earning a Master's Degree from the University of Southern California School of Public Administration, he spent his remaining 12 years as a medical consultant for the California Department of Health and Human Services and three years for the Department of Social Services, Social Security Disability Branch. Since retiring he has written four novels and this, his literary and political opus, because of his great love for our country and its democracy. As a physician he feels our democracy is in critical condition on its way to the ICU, or demise, unless we all vote to save it in November 2024 and every state and federal election thereafter until we place better safeguards in the Constitution.
