Amanda's first experience reading romance novels was in her early teens and continued throughout her life. Now, she has the time to explore her passion for writing narratives that involve realistic romantic situations. Amanda portrays her female protagonists in the same light as herself: as independent, feisty, assertive and passionate. Her books are written from a feminist perspective. The central characters are strong, articulate, independent, have a sense of purpose, and financially secure. They have a successful career and a fulfilling life. However, this is not to be outdone by her male protagonists. There is never a question about their masculinity, strength, sexuality or desire. They may have hard edges but also soft curves. They are equal partners in relationships and not bounded by stereotypical characteristics. They also demonstrate honesty, respect, trust in their partners, compassion and sincerity when expressing their emotions.
