He also recognizes that while scientific reasoning gets to the core of determining objective, independent truth, it has its limits; especially when it comes to one's inward journey through life. That philosophical quest requires the cultivation of a rich interior life-on one's own terms-to find meaning, passion, and hope. Finn Harper is a retired corporate suit who deliberately lives without much fanfare, spending a great deal of time contemplating the weighty things of life. The thing he now enjoys most, of course, is fiddling with ideas worth writing about-much like the one at hand.
