Part Of The Book:

The following morning dawned bright and clear over Honkey Town. The "fluffy thing," now affectionately named "Bramble" (after the thorny bushes surrounding Prickle Palace), was happily munching on leftover berries in the Prickle's pumpkin patch. He'd decided, or perhaps Portia had decided for him, that he was now officially a member of the family, much to Pip's initial chagrin and Poppy's delight.

Quills, feeling slightly foolish about his overreaction the previous evening, decided to take Bramble for a walk. He figured some fresh air and exercise would do him good, and perhaps he could even gather some extra twigs for their burrow.

As they strolled through the woods, Bramble suddenly stopped, his nose twitching. He began digging furiously at the base of a large oak tree, sending dirt and leaves flying.

"What's got into you, boy?" Quills chuckled, watching Bramble's enthusiastic excavation. He assumed Bramble had unearthed a particularly interesting root or perhaps a juicy grub.

Bramble, however, was digging with a purpose. After a few minutes of determined scrabbling, he unearthed something that made Quills' quills stand on end, this time not from fear, but from astonishment.

It was a small, wooden chest, bound with iron and covered in a layer of grime. Quills carefully lifted it out of the hole. It was surprisingly heavy.

"Well, now," he said, scratching his head. "What do we have here?"
