Benjamin Leopold Farjeon (1838-1903) was an English novelist, playwright, printer and journalist. Farjeon worked as a gold miner in Australia, where he started a newspaper. He settled in New Zealand where he became manager and sub-editor. As an author, he was known for his huge output. Farjeon began writing novels and plays, as self-confessed disciple of Dickens, whose attention he managed to catch.
