Ambrose Gwinnett Bierce was born June 24, 1842 was one of the great American short story writers though his talents extended to Journalism and as a critic. With the motto 'Nothing matters' it can be safely assumed that no one was free from his scathing viewpoint. As a writer he was distinctive. He would often employ abrupt openings, compacted descriptions, dark, worrying imagery. In 1913, Bierce travelled to Mexico to gain at first-hand an experience of the Mexican Revolution. Whilst travelling with the rebel forces he seemingly disappeared without a trace. Here in this volume we bring you A Song Of The Gods and A Horseman In The Sky. Fellow author Kurt Vonnegut called him a flawless American genius.
