Schmit is the Arthur DeKruyter/Christ Church Oak Brook Professor of Preaching and the academic director of the Brehm Center for Worship, Theology, and the Arts at Fuller Theological Seminary. An accomplished choral music director and composer, his scholarly areas of expertise include homiletics, aesthetics of preaching and liturgy, and composing, conducting, and performing liturgical music.
