Autorenporträt
Originally from Baltimore, Maryland. Received Associates Degree in Human Services. Service to children and youths include previous experience as a Youth Advocate in Maryland, seventeen years as a Jr. Kindergarten Instructor for USVI preschools, 20 years as an After School/Summer Camp Tutor and Performing Arts Counselor. Most recent 15 years were spent working with students in Kindergarten through 6th grades as a classroom Paraprofessional and Recess Arts and Science Club Organizer for Virgin Islands Public Schools. Mrs. Saunders has received numerous Community Foundation of the Virgin Islands Awards for her service to the islands' children, including the Silverbells & Cockleshells award of 2000 for her work as Performing Arts Specialist for the St. Thomas and St. John's VI Resources Center for the Disabled's summer and after school programs. Most recently, Mrs. Saunders received annual monetary awards from the CFVI's Anderson Family Teacher's Grants from 2008-2017, as well as AT&T STEM Grants for 2015 & 2016.
