Glynn Baugher grew up in rural Virginia; attended a one-room school; graduated from William Monroe High School; earned a B.A. degree from Emory and Henry College; earned an M. A. and a Ph.D. from Tulane University; taught at the college and university level for 34 years; married and fathered three children. Today he is retired and lives in Emory, Virginia.
