A Wishful Eye is a sweeping tale set in the United States during the antebellum yearswhen Christians took unpopular stands and engaged in illegal activity to care for the least of these.

In the years before the Civil War, abolitionists were considered radicals by the majority of Americans. When they couldn't help the enslaved by persuading those in power to change the law, they broke itrisking all they had, including their own liberty, for the sake of others and working side by side with free Black people who risked their very lives to help others.

As many as five thousand runaways are believed to have escaped slavery by crossing the Ohio River into the rural areas north of the bustling river towns of Indiana through the Underground Railroad. Their stories have not been told until now.

Perfect for historical fiction lovers, A Wishful Eye brings to light little-known facts about the people and events in Kentucky and the Ohio River Valley region during this era.
