Autorenporträt
Diane Marunczak earned her bachelor's degree in child development and family relations from Indiana University of Pennsylvania. She and her husband, Jim, live in Pennsylvania with their two daughters. Their oldest daughter was officially diagnosed with severe food allergies at around six months old, although there were suspicions well before that. It has been Diane's mission to do what she can to always make her daughter feel included and to ensure that her daughter be informed on what she needs to do daily to handle her allergies. Sending her off to school was a very difficult step because of the loss of control over her daughter's safety throughout the day. She is hoping this book will help others prepare their allergic children for school life and teach them how they can advocate for themselves, even at a young age, in what can be a very scary situation. Her goal is to help parents take away their children's fear and replace it by teaching their children to be confident and to have the knowledge to face the challenges that food allergies can add to a school day. Doing this will provide comfort to both the parent and the child and lead to a successful school year!
