Autorenporträt
DeAnn Beckles-Lewis is a registered Clinical Psychologist from the island of Barbados in the Caribbean. With over 12 years experience working with that nation's children with developmental disabilities, she has found it necessary to find new child-friendly ways to help parents explain different diagnoses to their children. She is also the mother of two boys, who challenge her daily to look beyond the momentary levels of activity and impulsivity as she helps them to develop to their optimal capacity. The book was conceptualized with the context of the Caribbean in mind, as many of our resources are from outside the region; however, it is certainly applicable to all contexts.
