You will need up to 150 grams of yarn for s/m size and up to 170 grams of yarn for l/xl size. Since the hat part of this is knit flat, you can use any knitting needles you like. I prefer using ether long circulars, or long straight "afghan" knitting needles. The neck part is knit in the round - so, you will need either double pointed needles or a circular needle to make a magic loop. The balaclava is stretchy; it will fit most of those who are in their according size. The ribbing pattern makes sure it stretches to fit and recovers its shape after being worn.
