Dr. Mrutyunjay Suar, Chairman of the Bhubaneswar City Knowledge Innovation Cluster (BCKIC), is also the Director General of R&D and Innovation at KIIT University and CEO at KIIT-TBI. He holds a master’s in marine biotechnology, a PhD in molecular microbiology, and has postdoc experience at ETH Zurich. Dr. Suar founded 2 companies, holds 6 patents and has over 150 publications in infection biology and nano-biomaterials
Dr. Smita Mohanty, Director and Head of CIPET, is a leading academician with over 15 years of research and teaching experience. Under her visionary leadership, LARPM has advanced in E-waste Recycling and Biopolymer development. She has published over 100 research articles in international journals and holds five Indian patents, showcasing her innovative contributions in polymer sector. Dr. Mohanty has also completed several industrial-sponsored projects.
Dr. Namrata Misra, CEO, BCKIC, is also an Advisor of KIIT TBI, and Associate Professor at KIIT School of Biotechnology, specializing in computational biology and disease biology. Besides her leadership role in innovation and start-up ecosystem, she is active in research and her work includes around 70 international publications, the development of computational tools, and editorial roles in scientific books. Dr. Misra is an awardee of the “Odisha Young Scientists Award 2019” and the “Women Excellence Award 2022”.
Dr. Smruti Ranjan Mohanty is the Lead of the Technology Partnership at BCKIC. Before that, he was working as Assistant Manager at SRF Ltd. He has a Ph.D. in Polymer Technology and his core research expertise is focused on new thermoplastics and polyurethane products. His accolades include the prestigious 10th National Award for Technology Innovation and the Excellent New Staff of the Year 2021 at Kingfa.
