This book centralizes the importance of using culturally relevant models within health promoting schools (HPS) to promote the participation of Black students. Lawrence Nyika recently completed his PhD in Educational Studies at St. Francis Xavier University, Nova Scotia. Currently, Lawrence is a part-time lecturer with the Institute for Capacity Development at Great Zimbabwe University. His research interests include health promoting schools,social determinants of health, and Black education.
